HelpDesk: The Deal With Instant Video Generator

You did a review of Instant video generator and I was left with a few questions. In your cons department you mentioned that you could not download the videos and you needed sorenson squeeze to make the video.

But in the end you recommend the free trial and say the product works great. You mention a price of 39.  What I don’t get is how could this work great if I have to purchase sorenson which if I remember right is 250 to 500 and instant’s 39 dollar price is dirt cheap and why worry if you can not download your own video as you would have made it yourself?

And when you mention 39 dollars one of the reasons I am suspicious of instant is their website wants your email and sign up info before they even tell you the price. Why would they hide the price if it is only 39. Or do we mean 39 a month?

Hello there. Instant video generator is a service you pay $39.95 a month to use. I mentioned it works great – and I guess I should qualify that. It works nicely when you are doing quick blasts like creating a video postcard to your list or just creating a video of yourself on your blog. It also works great if you don’t know how to do all that fancy Sorenson Squeeze and video editing stuff.

In that article it really depends what you’re doing. If you are recording directly into IVG then, you can’t download the final recording. I don’t know about you, but I like to keep copies of everything I do. Same with video. Having a copy on my hard drive or backup sits well with me. If you’re not worried about it then this is not an issue.

If you’re already creating your own videos to upload to IVG, you needed to convert it into a format IVG likes. Sorenson Squeeze is not my recommendation but IVG’s recommendation. You don’t absolutely need Sorenson Squeeze to use it there are other tools to convert your video we will mention in a little while.

As mentioned in the article, I have not used IVG in a while and they may have improved the upload format as well as added the ability to download the files. Then again it doesn’t quite matter anymore.

These days, you can capture any video file online to save it to your hard drive. Furthermore, there are affordable tools like FLV generator and Super (which is free) to convert your videos to FLV so you can easily import to IVG.

Using IVG just takes out a bunch of techie steps that many people are not comfortable dealing with.
