Gmail Users More Responsive

Could that be possible? Despite marketers fears about Gmail carrying contextual ads that compete with your own messages, Return Path analyzed data from Postmaster Direct and have found Gmail users much more responsive to their mailings. Interesting indeed. Not quite the hard conclusion one might hope for but interesting enough. Makes me wanna conduct my own tests. What about you? Have you noticed similar statistics on
your list?

I’m a big Gmail user and admit I’m more apt to open, read and respond to emails I receive through it simply because it’s my ‘newsletter’ email. It’s the one I use to signup for information that I want to receive and am certain I’m not alone. That by itself would skew the whole response thing. But… then again, many people use Yahoo, Hotmail and AOL addresses for this purpose as well, so what gives? My theory – these other free email services are so darned difficult to deliver email even when it’s emails people
want to receive but what they don’t see, they can’t respond. Gmail however does a better job of properly detecting spam and delivering emails.
