Buying Kayako? Here’s What You Should Know
Kayako is a popular helpdesk system that quite a few marketers online use. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to work with many clients who get my help implementing it and have got to know the system intimately.
Unfortunately their sales system isn’t exactly the best. Their website can be so confusing and jargon ridden. Many people actually ending up getting the wrong thing and paying more for more complex systems that they don’t need.
Kayako is very feature rich so, for most Internet Marketers, the most basic option is more than enough. Don’t get expensive versions with live support – unless you absolutely plan on having live help. Most people I know, don’t need it.
Should you have it hosted by Kayako or purchase a yearly license for your own server? I’d say depends on whether you have a technical person on hand. Even if you don’t, for the most part Kayako is quite low maintenance – from a technical standpoint – once you get it going. If you want to get in for the long term – go for the self hosted yearly license. If you are undecided but need to move quickly and want to “give it a try” go with the monthly hosted version. This gives you a chance to see how it all flows and if it works well for you.
