What Creative Use of A Caller Line
Leslie Truex, a member of MomMasterminds, was having trouble getting a project started. She finally decided it’s time to just do it. But how? Part of the reason it was difficult to get the project off the ground was because of limited time. That’s when she came up with this creative solution. I love it!

What she did was open up a telephone line. Invited people whom she knows can and are qualified to help her. They are asked to call in and leave a recording of their answer to a question she put out. Voila! Instant quality content. Nice touch Leslie.
So what do you do if you want to do that? Well, if you have an Audio Acrobat account, you can do that really easily. You can also do this a little low tech using regular voice mail. For example, I have a GrandCentral account that will take the voicemail and let me download the recording in an MP3 and you can piece it all together.
How do you use your voicemail? Or do you have a creative way of using other technology? Spill the beans how you do it.

Hi Lynette,
I have an account at Ring Central, and do some advertising for consulting in my local area. Ring Central provides a local number for callers to call, and I made sure (in the settings) to send an email to a yahoo account whenever a call comes in. But I also set it to send me a text when a voice mail message is left on Ring Central, which gets sent immediately, and allows me to call right back. And Ring Central has a “ring-out” feature which allows me to call (like a calling card) from that obscure phone number. Works great, very efficient!

That’s very neat Thomas. It is very nice that Ring Central allows you to have a local call in number. Definitely an advantage for local businesses.
The ring out is helpful. GrandCentral does that too. Nice to keep the real phone number under wraps and still be accessible to clients.
