SEO toolkits may include other optional tools. In general these will ask you to give the address information of your website URL. Using it will allow you access to in-depth data concerning your web pages. You can use this to rework the information on your pages, and in your html, to raise your position and rankings on Google, Yahoo, MSN and other search engines on the World Wide Web.

Keyword Suggestion Tools

These tools utilize single keywords in order to help generate the best possible options for optimization of individual websites with the search engines. There are many versions of these, most ask you only to enter a keyword in the tool and various suggestions will be given. This is the most basic kind of keyword tool that is used by all websites for enhancing promotion.

Keyword Research Tools

These keyword tools are generally more comprehensive versions of the above suggestion tools. They allow you to research a keyword from multiple sources, combinations of keyword listing options, compare competitive information, check web pages, and analyze keywords in a variety of ways. These are useful to the more experienced user, but with some diligence anyone can make use of them beneficially.

Keyword Density Tools

Having the proper keyword density is essential to search engine optimization of your web pages. These are sometimes part of other keyword tools, but often are best used from a singular source. Usually you can find these free with other search engine tools. It is a good idea to try out different ones to compare the information you are able to generate and see which is most useful to your needs.

Broken Link Checking Tools

There are search engine link checking mechanisms called spiders that look for broken links and when these are found they can affect your search engine rankings dramatically. Tools like this check regularly to make sure that your web pages have working links and some can notify you when there are problems with the links on your websites. This is a very important tool especially if you are designing for multiple clients, or have web pages in various locations that need to be monitored for affiliate advertising and other web page elements. They are essential for regularity of your website promotion in general.

Free Submission Tools

Your website must be submitted in order for anyone to find it readily from searching on sites like Google, Yahoo or MSN. There are many submission tools that may list you on one or dozens, or even more search engines in a matter of minutes. Do a little research to find out which ones are the most useful for your needs. These are great time savers for anyone, or at any level of website design expertise.

Traffic Analytic Tools

The analysis of website traffic, where it comes from, what browsers are being used by visitors and more in-depth information is tracked and gathered by these tools. Various free analytic tools are available and most are similar in nature. In general they are useful to all levels of users, but for the most experience web designers it is a good idea to try different ones. Trying the available options of the differing analytics out there will allow you to find which ones serve your tracking and traffic analysis best. Also some that are more bias as to the information provided.

Social Networking Tools

These are growing more popular, so it is noteworthy to mention them in a general sense. Listing your sites via posting on sites like Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Stumble Upon, Digg it and even via Blogger and Word Press is becoming the normal mode of fast website promotion for the general public. Although it does not replace the work of search engine ranking or well designed HTML, it cannot be denied that social networks are an important mode of promotion for any modern web designer. There is a lot of easy and less complicated free and publicly available cross platform promotion to be gained in these networks.
