That really is no surprise nor it anything new. Being away from the office, preparing for a trip and re-orientating oneself after a trip is very disruptive and unproductive. Gas prices are ever escalating, travel becoming more cumbersome and security issues add to that problem. The article goes on to say that nothing will replace face to face meetings and I whole heartedly agree.
To me, first and last meetings are important especially if we’re talking about multi million dollar contracts and you need or should be present but the in between communication is where web conferencing works well.
