Hey Lynette,
I saw you are using hipcast for your audios. How would you compare them to Audio Acrobat? I just noticed the price was way cheaper a month than Audio Acrobat and the bargain mom I am thought hmmm…
Thanks,
Jen

I really like HipCast. I’ve been using them ever since 2005 and then they were known as AudioBlogger.com
I don’t have an AudioAcrobat account so I can’t comment on the exact features and functions but from conversations with others, I know that the biggest plus with AA is that you can assign ‘listener lines’ so people can call in to record their message or feedback.
Hipcast does not have this – at least last I checked. There’s only one number and you should not give that out ever because it’s like a master number. The call in feature is not important to me at all and so Hipcast fits me just fine plus the lower cost can’t hurt!
Hipcast started doing video and podcast long before AA came out with theirs so they do that a little better – in my opinion. But I’m not sure how AA publishes the podcast. Do they publish it to a blog or to an RSS feed? In Hipcast you can do both. You can publish directly to an RSS feed or you can publish to your blog.
The only draw back on Hipcast is the fact that it’s made for bloggers and podcasters. So it’s not very non-blog friendly. Unlike AA, if you want to get the code for the player, you must publish it to a blog first. There is no place to grab the player code inside the control panel. So, I keep a private blog where I publish all my audios to and pick up the code there. Not a huge deal but can be a pain if you publish a lot of audios. Something I’m willing to put up with for 1/4 of the price 🙂
