Apparently, Pew Internet’s data in my last post is inaccurate. But I do agree with Neville Hobson – this is one of those phenomenons you can see it gaining popularity. My own off beat logic also tells me – it doesn’t really matter if someone subscribes to a podcast or has simply downloaded an MP3 file because that content has to go somewhere. If people are gobbling up these MP3 players, chances are good those MP3’s are ending up in a portable player. But even that means nothing because I suspect not all podcast listeners use an MP3 player – like me. Some of my subscribed podcasts never leave my computer because I consume them while at my PC. The more important question to me is – are these media files being consumed? Are they listened to , watched and read. Logic tells me they are but then again I’m first to admit I’ve got more files left to sit than I have time to listen to.
