If you don’t know anything about me, you’ll know I like technology – that’s kinda obvious huh? I like my gadgets too. The smartphone, the Pulse pen, the laptop, cameras yadda, yadda, yadda. You get the idea. But you gotta admit, these gadgets seem to breed accessories and cables making it so difficult to stay organized. Now I’m not the most organized person in the world and can tell you I’m not exactly the best housekeeper around. If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it is unwieldy cables.
So once in a while I get some inspiration from more creative, more organized people than me to help with this. Also, as money is tight, I started to wonder, how many of my household items can be creatively turned into gadget organizers. These are some I found.
Clear Shoe Pocket
Guess this is not exactly a new idea. I know many people use these shoe pocket/hangers to organize a bunch of other things. They are pretty versatile.
Large Tupperware
I agree with the folks at Gizmodo. I am so hacking this idea. Going to get some nice looking plastic containers and cutting the cover out. Or maybe use one of those nice grass baskets and making a cover of my own – that’s probably better than plastic which keeps heat inside.
Chest
How creative! I love this. They used a chest and turned it into a network hub/printer area. This might be a nice makeover for an old forgotten chest too. I can see myself scoping out yard sales for one of those old (and cheap) chests to make something like this because – we don’t have one in the attic 🙂
Rolling kitchen cart / island
While the image doesn’t do it justice, I already have a solution to my problem. Not long ago, I told my husband I want a waist high desk so I can wheel to my video ‘studio’ and still have the laptop in front of me. We looked at some of those rolling desks but Oh my! Either they cost too much and wasn’t well built or they just weren’t high enough. After seeing this, it looks like the kitchen cart is the way to go.
Pegboard
Took me a while to figure this picture out, this is actually the underside of someone’s desk. How smart! Absolutely brilliant!
