Wow lot’s of new products out this week. Today, there’s another one released, a membership site manager. If you’ve followed this blog or my newsletter you’ll know I’m a huge membership product fan.
In the past 2+ years I’ve managed a few of these sites and people ask me all the time what should they use. Just last week the same question popped up. To date I will still say amember. Why? Too many reasons to post here but one main reason that encompasses it all, it’s highly flexible. I don’t have to manage my site with a built in CMS that I can’t change and don’t like. I can manage my member’s content however I want be it using WordPress,
a CMS like Joomla or plain old HTML using XSitePro, FrontPage, Dreamweaver. There are also other reasons but like I said, I will probably write a book on aMember.
Well today, EasyMemberPro is launching. The intial video looks highly promising. The content management system is fully built in and I also see there’s an option to offer One Time Offers and that’s really cool. The interface looks nice, clean and very easy to manage.
There are a few things that jump out at me. One, I noticed there are only two payment options. PayPal and 2Checkout. Now I know for 90% of the membership sites especially those run by Internet Marketers, that’s plenty. But this is the reason why I like amember. You can plug into a huge list of payment processors. And from my experience running a shopping cart, you’ll get people asking
you for alternative payment options. At the very least I feel a credit card option should be there, be it Authorize.net or Linkpoint. But being new I’m sure this is a feature that can be requested.
Secondly, there’s pros and cons to a built in content management system. This means you can’t quite turn an existing site into a paid membership site overnight, you’ll have to do a bit of work moving things over.
Third, I didn’t see how this product manages download files. 99% of the membership sites I know have downloads. I will assume and give the programmers a lot of confidence here by saying I’m pretty certain any uploads you put in the member’s system is automatically protected but can’t be sure.
Still, it looks very promising, I kinda like what I see in the video and EasyMemberPro is definitely worth checking out.
