How To Answer Questions Without Being Asked
One of the hardest things to do is probably to get people to respond to you. Whether it is commenting on your blog or getting email newsletter readers to give feed back. Some markets are just quieter than others. Sometimes, the question is not moving enough for them to respond to. And maybe they are just tired, or think what they have to say is not very valuable. This is probably the most common reason.
How many times have you read a blog post that you found good but other than thinking to yourself ‘ah good point’ or nodding your head in agreement you have little else to add? Besides, you don’t want to come across as a spammer with one liner comments.People say, one of the easiest ways to find something to blog about is to ask your audience a question… assuming they will respond to you. What do you do? If the lines are quiet. Try this.
Thousands of questions are being asked every day on the web from places like Yahoo! Answers, AnswerBag.com, AskQuestions.org social networks, forums. Questions people really want to know about or get help from. You know they will be interested in because the people themselves put out. So, visit such Q&A sites, find the right category or do a keyword search. There will be a bunch you can toss out but most of the time, you’ll find plenty of questions to answer on your blog and your email newsletter.
Once you start answering questions people are more likely to ask you because it takes away the “I don’t want to be the first to ask a stupid question” fear from people. To encourage real question from them, at the end, ask them what about them? Do they have a question related to this they’d like you to answer? Then tell them where and how to do it.

I also discoverd in one of the niches I work, that regardless of how intelligent or stupid your posts or newsletters are, you don’t get feedback – although the newsletters get read and acted upon.
I then installed a modified survey script where I just ask a single question and this gets mailed to me without the sender to reveal email addy or name. This works.

Hey Santa. It does seem that people tend to prefer giving feedback with a form versus replying with email. Maybe they don’t feel like exposing themselves too much.
