7 Places To Get Free Business Classes
Mahatma Gandhi said,
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
We need to always be learning, in order to continue growing. So it applies to business as well. In order for you to continually grow your business, you need to always be learning.
There is no shortage of learning material today. I’m sure almost everyday, you receive many emails convincing you to buy this course and that. As you should. Most times, if you want to dig deep, you have to be prepared to pay for it.
However, sometimes you can find real gems for nothing. If you’re short on cash and need some solid business education, try these.
WebCamp.cc
This is a 3 day online event, conducted by the illustrious Armand Morin. Every other month for 3 days, he will teach you about various topics around marketing your business online. These aren’t webinars that run for an hour for the sole purpose of getting you to buy the complete course. These are full day learning sessions, usually 10 am through 6 pm, where he teaches you things he’s actually using and working on. Yes, you can expect some promotions for his products but the camp itself is not designed to get you to upgrade to premium content. Highly recommended.
Udemy
Tons of courses here as you can imagine, from different people. You have to weed out the better teachers, and the free courses give you a perfect method of doing that. You’ll find free sales and marketing courses here.
Skillshare
Though there are more courses on improving a skill, there are also a lot of business courses there aimed at creatives. Teachers include some big names like Seth Godin, Guy Kawasaki, and Barbara Corcoran.
EdX
They focus on providing online classes from Universities, colleges, and organizations from around the world. More traditional academia, but you will find a section on business that is worth looking through.
Coursera
A lot like edX. You’ll find courses from institutions of higher learning all over the world including Georgia Tech, Yale, Stanford, Duke, and more. Their inventory seems a lot larger too. Like edX, you could even earn certificates for some courses. You’ll find some business and management courses here.
Creative Live
Along the lines of Skillshare, Creative Live is targeted at crafters, photographers, videographers, artists, and musicians. Basically the creative types. A listing of free classes can be found here.
Treehouse
Focused primarily on tech topics such as HTML, PHP, and Mobile development. However it is also has a business section for the geeks amongst us. Treehouse doesn’t offer free courses, but they do have a 14 day trial which is enough for you to finish one maybe two courses if you pick them out in advance.
While these aren’t the only ones out there, you’ll find a lot of different courses you can start and keep you busy for a while. Just remember. Don’t keep learning endlessly. That’s only half of the story. Take time for application. That’s the other half. Do them together and you’ll get an education.
