Express Scribe
This is one is fantastic for transcriptionists who are starting out and VA’s who do transcriptions on occasion. I found Express Scribe when I had a bunch of videos that need to be transcribed and hoping to recruit a family member to help me with them. This slows down an audio so you can transcribe without having to pause or stop the audio every now and then.
NCH Software, the company who created Express Scribe and a host of other free audio related software like Express Dictate and also sells foot pedals so when your business starts bringing in the cash, you can easily add the hardware. I really like that it works together with Express Dictate, the dictation software. When your client uses Express Dictate and you use Express Scribe, you can send and receive recording and transcriptions with ease. Great when working with regular clients.
Very easy to use and does the job. And just to clarify, no, it cannot play the video, only audio so I had to grab the audio first.
