How ironic is that? Yesterday I shared how an email marketer leaked their list’s address to other subscribers. Today, I was going through my email and found… guess what. An email announcement and everyone else’s email address is on the TO field including mine. Why is this so bad?
- Not everyone secures their computer as well as they should. A piece of malicious software can harvest email address from their emails and address book. Even though you may not be responsible for other people’s computer but you’ve just exposed people on your list to the possibility.
- Now everyone will know who you sell to and how many people has purchased that product. Giving away your sales information. May not be complete but better than nothing especially for a competitor. Competition is good but not so good you want to give away your customer list.
