Think split testing is difficult? I’m happy to tell you it is not. You also won’t need special software if you have the Pretty Link Pro plugin for WordPress because this feature is built right in. It is super easy to get done too.

Here’s an outline how to do it.

Step One, you need to make sure all your pages are created. At the least, you will need two offer pages and one landing page. Offer pages are where you offer something like subscribe to a newsletter, register for a webinar or buy something. The landing page is the page after the user takes the action you want them to take, also known as the thank you page.

Step Two, you create a Pretty Link for the landing page – this can be a normal Pretty Link and you can set it as a redirect if you want.

Step Three, you create a Pretty Link for the two offer pages you want to test. You can enter one of them as the target URL to get started. Then click the Pro Links Options to expose the fields as you see below. Enter the other offer page URLs in the Target URL Rotations and make sure you set the weight.

Step Four, make sure you check the box for split testing

And step five, you need to select the landing page as the ‘goal’. This should already have been done earlier in step two and click update

Now you are ready. You may have to tweak other areas for example, if this is a newsletter subscription, you will need to tweak the thank you page URL in your email newsletter system and use the Pretty Link URL from step two so the conversions get tracked properly.
