In case you didn’t know, aMember has released their WordPress plugin for free. This plugin used to cost $40.

Also to be clear, this a an aMember plugin not WordPress. What it does it plug into aMember to create members in WordPress when a customer orders a product and removes or suspends them when the member cancels.

There is a down side to the existing plugin though, it doesn’t protect the content. It only handles the adding and removing of members into the WordPress database.

On the other hand, content protection is not that difficult in WordPress there are some free plugins that lets you protect content but my favorite way is to use aMember PHP code directly in the theme. That will do the trick in most cases.

Following the free plugin announcement, aMember also tells us that they are currently working on a new WordPress plugin that will protect content and add/remove members in WordPress. There is already a beta copy ready for download – keep in mind it is beta so you may not want to try that on a live site.
