Twitter: The One Thing Everyone Misses

Last week, at MomMasterminds, we had a call about Twitter and we talked about the many ways we use Twitter. Among our peers too there has been several interviews and talk about how they use Twitter for business. The general consensus is relationship building, getting personal, another avenue to expose your blog, your company and your product.

TwitterIt’s an info gold mine and it is live.

Many Twitterers also say it is a fantastic source of help. Don’t know how to do something? Just ask on Twitter.

I agree with all that. I love how Twitter brings people to my blog quickly and who are also ready to chat. The traffic has been quite interesting. But it is also more than traffic. It’s about friendship. My customers are my friends. Twitter allows me to be a ‘friend’.

There’s a lot going on at Twitter every single minute of the day. People talk about everything all day 24 hours. It never sleeps. The neat part is, searching Tweets to see what people are discussing about.

Want to know what people are saying about your product? Do a Twitter ego search. Real time info or at least the latest. Talk about market research. Can you imagine launching a product and watching Twitter streams for instant feedback, tweaking it as you see them coming through?

Don’t know what to blog or write an article about? Search Twitter.

Want to know what people are saying about your competitor? Search Twitter.

You should be getting the idea now. Once you search Twitter, you will see just how much info there is on there. On the flip side, be careful what you put out on Twitter – I tracked a whole mini conversation where someone was talking about a product they were going to launch – which is OK. But leaking too much detail about the product is not good.

Here are some search tools you can use.

Tweetscan

Summize (my favorite at time of writing)

TwitterTroll

And finally, you can of course use good old fashioned Google by typing in site:twitter.com keyword
