E-learning With Web Conferencing – Case Study

Last week, I met someone who very creatively uses Internet technology in their business. They were a pair of siblings who wanted to go into business online but knew little about it. Instead of pursuing the regular channels, they decided to make the most use of Web Conferencing and Desktop Sharing technologies.

They first set out to hire people who were good at what they do. A proficient web master is one example. Using a desktop sharing application, they had the web master sit down and give them one on one tutoring sessions. As the tutor taught, they put things into action and practiced.

Why go this route? Why not just go to a class in the local community college or something? Good question. First, one of them is a busy pilot. Secondly, the siblings lived in different parts of the country, one of them even lives in another country during certain parts of the year. Lastly, although they may not realize it, I see clearly how they are in complete control of what they learn. It’s not what someone else thinks they should be learning. Instead, they cut straight to the chase. More effective than reading any book. I just thought that’s awesome. I’ll be working with them soon on setting up their first membership site. It’s not only exciting but I’m very proud to be doing so.

    Lynette,

I am sure there are times when you wonder if many people are reading and listening to your newsletters and podcasts.

Well, guess what? We ARE! You keep getting better and better. I always look forward to your missives.

    Hey Greg,

Glad to see you around again. Why thank you for the reminder. It does get a little ‘lonely’ at times.
