Screencasts As A Product
It’s been a while since I talked about screencasts. If you don’t know what that is, screencasts are screen capture videos that demonstrate how someone completes a task on the computer. Kinda like looking over the shoulder of someone while they’re working.
Why create them? Lot’s of reasons. I like to create them as a support tool. Everytime someone orders, I send them to view the screencast. This has reduced the number of support requests dramatically to the point they don’t need me to hold their hands anymore. You could do this for your downloadable products too. There are still many people who aren’t familiar with downloading and consuming electronic products.
The other great thing about screencasts is the opportunity to sell your knowledge. Are you an expert at Photoshop? Outlook? Maybe you are a great Internet researcher. All the stuff that you do regularly can be recorded and made into information products. Talking about that, my friend Alice Seba held a free teleseminar about creating information products last week. She’s made the teleseminar recordings available for a limited time so you might want to get it now.
