XSitePro vs Site Build It
Because of my testimonial for XSitePro which I still use and is still valid by the way, I get a lot of questions from people. Here’s one received recently and thought I’d post it here because this is something a lot of people wonder about.
Q: Lynette, I saw your site link on xsitepro.com and have a web site design question for you: i recently joined Sitesell.com and it is a REAL pain, huge hassle. is Xsitepro superior to SiteSell in terms of design capabilities and features? have you ever tried sitesell or had a client who tried using it ? thanks for your help
A: Site Build It can be a painful experience. I’ve had to use it for a while and am not going back. Don’t get me wrong, I think Ken Evoy’s information is very good, Site Build It does have some plus points but it also needs to be a lot more intuitive and flexible.
Given a choice, I would opt for XSitePro any time. While Site Build It has some nice features such as the BrainstormIT, the forms are included but XSitePro also have superior affiliate management built in. It’s a lot easier to link to affiliate products, enter Adsense codes and you have a lot of flexibility. And… there are many many other features. Here’s an audio review of me going through a few XSitePro features and why I like it.
As a side note, when my husband started his first real content based website last week, I showed him XSitePro and he was hooked. He instantly purchased his own copy. FYI, he’s a total newbie to site building.
He got his site with around 20+ pages, search engine optimized and ready for affiliate links in 4 days. Now you might think 4 days is a long time, but it isn’t because sometime back, we went through this very same process. We didn’t have XSitePro then so I tried to teach him FrontPage. Months later, he still never got past the first page. Even that first page was all out of whack, totally horrible. Needless to say I never even got to teach him about Search engine optimization or adding affiliate links.
I think he’d be lost in Site Build It.
I hope you give XSitePro a try. If you decide to pick up a copy, I’d sincerely appreciate if you could tip me 😉 by getting it through this link.

Lynette,
Thanks for your blog. I have been using XSP for over two years now and regularly post to their forum. I have just written a page for my site which tells of a couple of other programs that marry well with XSP. I did not know if you would be interested in sharing this link or not, but if so the page is here: http://www.sc-site.com/xsitepro-add-ons.html
Anyway, I totally agree with your blog. I used SiteBuildIt for about three months before giving up and switching. It is just not easy to build one page at a time. When I build a site with XSP, I will take and layout all of my pages into an outline and then start writing the content. It helps me stay focused and gets it done.
Anyway, just thought I would take a few minutes to comment.
