How To Make Text Into Links In My PDF?

This is a question that pops up so frequently and most people misunderstand what the PDF creator is trying to do. So just for clarification sake, the goal is to make clickable linked text like this. Now this may sound simple but really a good majority of PDF creators I’ve seen will only create hyperlinks if you spell out the URL completely, like this https://techbasedmarketing.com/blog/. This is especially true of PDF creators that are virtual printers, i.e. to create the PDF, you would go to the print feature in the application you’re using.

Adobe Acrobat of course can handle linked text but I’ve found even that is quirky. Well, I’ve got a suggestion for you and don’t worry, you won’t have to pull out your wallet at all because it’s Open Source and it’s called Open Office. Folks, I’m so in-love with this suite of products I’m ditching Microsoft Office. Not only is this suite packed with all sorts of applications (which by the way costs extra in Microsoft Office) but the features are great especially built-in PDF creation. I’ve got this on both my PC and Mac (NeoOffice version).

And yes, it can generate PDFs with pretty linked text. Download Open Office Here.

I love open office for its pdf creator. The fact that it's free is an awesome bonus.
