Yes ma’am (& sir). After many long years I got myself – well actually more like hubby got me, a MAC for Christmas. Golly! I have never owned a MAC and the last time I touched one was almost 20 years ago and at that time, I seriously thought I’d crash a computer if I touched it. Eeks! Ah… how things change.

So… am I ready to take sides? Nope and I doubt I ever will because there are some things I really like in Windows. I’m missing my 3 button mouse terribly 🙁 Right and middle click is my best friend – feel so lost without it and things require so many clicks. But this is probably because I’m new to the operating system. Yes, I know I can get a 3 button mouse but I have a PowerBook and don’t use the MAC on my desktop. I’ll get proficient soon enough.

On the other hand, I do like it because I now get to test all those cool MAC software 🙂 . I like the way it operates. So far, I picked up everything right out of the box – except for configuring my Wireless which was a pain but once that was licked it has been very smooth sailing and works well. Most of all – I love the fact that I am actually more productive even though I work on my couch. Why? Because… I don’t have as many applications as I do on my PC that tend to draw me away from my work. For example, I can’t install Mailwasher so I can’t keep checking emails (yes I know – bad habit).

Another thing I like is how I can so easily share my documents! I never imagined it would be so painless. I have MS Office on the PC but use NeoOffice (branch of OpenOffice) on the MAC and it has worked really well.

So… MAC fans, do you have any words of wisdom for this newbie?
