Is Web Conferencing Worth It?
Is web conferencing worth it? I think the question to that answer is like asking someone if a book they bought is worth it or not – it depends whether you’re using it properly or not. Once during a very expensive seminar an influential marketer was quite vehement about web conferecing being (pardon my language) crap. I was of course a little taken aback because this is the first time I heard someone so adamantly against it. No software is perfect. Web conferencing included. Since then I’ve been very interested to find out what people who actually use web conferencing consistently think. Has it been worth their time?
Many of my questions were answered in a white paper by Wainhouse Research, sponsored by WebEx. Here are some highlights of the survey:
- On average, users report getting 32% more leads using web events vs traditional methods
- 88% of respondents indicate web serminars met ROI expectations
- 99% think overall results achieved from web seminars lived up to expectations and of these, 55% reported results were above expectations
Are they worth it? The survey indicates a yes.
