Why Web Conferencing Software Rocks

For two days, my husband recruited me to help set up a remote desktop sharing software on his computer. For two days we scratched our heads. It wasn’t that difficult, but like most open source software, documentation is what I call cryptic. In short, it might as well have been written in hieroglyph. Since I’m geeky and am not one who backs down from a challenge, I’m willing to stick with it and figure things out, but it shouldn’t be that way. Technology should be easy to use, especially when there are so many awesome stuff out there. And when I say easy, I don’t mean easy for the technically inclined.

Anyway, I was so frustrated I kept harping to the poor man why don’t you just use my web conferencing software instead? No settings, no IP numbers or ports to remember just run it. This is the beauty of web conferencing software capable of desktop sharing. You can remote troubleshoot much easier than asking someone to install a software that’s difficult to set up just so you can help them fix a problem.

Well we finally did get it going and the software is awesome but… what a pain to get there.
