MarketerCMS Review
Lately there seems to be a lot of WordPress themes focused around sales letters and squeeze pages. Personally I’ve never liked them much because they put too much focus on the sales and squeeze pages, leaving the core blog, and single page design horribly neglected. So you would have really nice looking sales and squeeze pages but inside pages look very much like whatever default theme WordPress gives you. To me, those are unfinished themes and it is frustrating to a point because…
When I set up WordPress, it would power an entire site. Meaning we would have static sales, squeeze, landing pages, blog, membership dashboard and all in one. We’ve been doing this for a long time, tweaking themes by hand – it’s not that difficult really. And, we’ve been doing this for a while. Way before the majority of other marketers.
As you can imagine I was a little reluctant when MarketerCMS was released. But I took a chance anyway because I was interested in the sales copy portion of the theme.
Inside Pages
I was quite pleased to find the inside pages nicely customized too. It was done in a way that is clean enough for an experienced developer to put their signature touches on it yet looks good right out of the box. So that was a big plus.
After playing around with it, I decided I really liked the sales copy ‘helper’. It walks you through each step of writing a sales letter. This is based on Armand’s original Sales Letter Generator (which I also owned). I liked guided copy writing because it helps me think through points and remember areas that are easy for me to forget.
Sales Copy Help
Of course, there are other plus points about the theme like the ability to throw up video sales and squeeze pages in a jiffy. This is really helpful if you are the type who doesn’t like to customize things too much and just put it up – that’s a good thing by the way, put it up now, tweak later.
When we purchased it, we also received a bonus child theme that gave us a wide option of the theme instead of the default narrower centered page design.
For experienced developers, this theme is easy enough to work with. I appreciate the fact that it’s not a frame work in many ways because I’m not entirely a fan of frameworks. We’ve also started to develop some child themes of our own for MarketerCMS 🙂
Suffice to say, we will be keeping it.
