Wired News: Wal-Mart Says, Make CDs Yourself
Ok so I’m trying to make a point with micro payments. I think this will certainly fit in very well with a micro payment model. But even if it isn’t adding fulfillment on demand is pretty interesting from a marketing stand. But how would you achieve this technically? One of the best products for digital delivery I’ve found is aShop Deluxe. It’s a shopping cart, digital delivery system, membership system, affiliate system and software tracker all in one and yes, it’s a script. Now that might not seem very exciting but if you’re selling information products, the digital key feature of aShop Deluxe can certainly help reduce piracy or freeloaders. The next neat thing about it is you can actually hook up to a CD/DVD fulfillment company which is Swift CD in this case. If you allowed for physical fulfillment, aShop Deluxe will send that information to Swift CD and they will fulfill it – all hands off to you. This is really cool because lately I’ve sat back and observed many information marketers who made the transition from digital to physical product. Some of of them have really had a lot of problems. By allowing both digital and physical it would certainly help plus I would imagine you can make a few more bucks if someone wanted a physical copy of the product.
