How To Automatically Remove Banner After Specific Date
Some of you… ok, so most of you know that I’ve entered myself in the Startup Nation’s Leading Moms In Business 2009 competition. Upon the excellent suggestion of Tom, a loyal reader here, I added a banner to my blog, which you can see at the bottom of this post. The banner is not something I keep there permanently and I’m not sure at this point if I will put more banners there. I really don’t want to remind myself to remove this banner after the closing date, creating yet another to-do in my list. What’s the solution?
Using PHP, I used the code below to automatically remove or expire the banner after a specified date and time. You can add this to your WordPress theme or any PHP powered site.
Text or banner to display after expiry. If you don't want anything to display delete this whole paragraph.
It's still within date display the banner. Enter the banner/text/message here in HTML
Please note that the date and time is the date/time of your web host server. So if you are on Pacific time and your server is set to GMT, you may find your banner pulled earlier than expected. So adjust the date/time accordingly.
