In the town where I grew up, there is a small business who did your laundry for you, and they washed, dried, ironed everything by hand. Wowza! I’m sure if they had the ability (or vision) to automate, they would certainly have been able to take in more work – or spend less time working however you want to look at it.

It really doesn’t matter whether you are working for yourself or your clients. My friends, automation is the way to shave off gobs of time and I know you know that already. But HOW?

It seems like you’re already automating as much as you possibly can. You’re using a computer, not a typewriter, and the very nature of your business could be 100% automatic. For example, downloadable info products or membership sites. For service providers though, automation seems to be harder to achieve. But there’s always a way.

Sometimes it just means having technology that is ripe to apply to the task. Sometimes, it’s a matter of having brave explorer type person to go cutting through the jungle and carve a path out for us.

That’s why I am so excited to show you the newest addition to our TechBasedTraining catalog. You see, one of the most boring, mundane work to have to do when you are a web designer/developer is to set up WordPress sites for people. Sure you may enjoy it. But you don’t always enjoy the whole process.

I don’t enjoy the setup – I know the setup is only a few minutes of my time but urgh… what comes after is not. Deleting the same categories, Hello World post, Blogroll links over and over again. Uploading the same set of plugins for the billionth time. Even if they aren’t the same sites it soon becomes a chore.

Chores are not fun.

What is fun though is the beautifying process. The tweaking of colors, the fleshing out of key content that makes you feel like you’re actually moving forward. Unfortunately, this part can only happen after much  time spent setting up, getting the foundation ready.
