When It’s A Bad Idea To Use PDFs
April 26th, 2006Oh.. this article reminds me so much of my own tussle with PDF’s. Even though my inconvenience was slightly different.
Almost everyone I know is producing, has and will produce PDF documents. Most of them are just fine because they want to create e-books, nicely formatted reports and stuff like that. Even printable worksheets work nice on PDFs but the moment you want to provide data that needs (or could) be further analyzed like sales and commission reports, PDF is just such a bad idea because the receiving party (assuming they are the rightful receipients) cannot quickly and readily use that data.
The better formats are: CSV or plain text.
