No more blogger's block

Well… maybe, I’m forever trying and testing out new software, I’ll probably find more sometime in the future but right now, my quest for the perfect web clipping, note taking tool has ended, thanks to Gina Trapani of Lifehacker. It’s a Firefox extension (Man, I love this browser more and more each day) called Scrapbook. It can do a ton of things I haven’t even delved into yet but right now it suits my needs the best because you can tell it to save to a specific location which I have on my network attached server. This means I can access my clippings both from my desk and wirelessly. And if I’m on the road, just drop the folder into a USB drive and off I go. I like this even better because there is no need to power up yet another software. God knows I’ve got too many of those running.

I still like ClipMarks because it’s online but I’ll reserve that for stuff that I really want to share. Ahem… a girl’s gotta have her secrets you know ;-) As for TiddlyWiki, I’m now using that as my start page which serves as a launcher of sorts for web sites I log in to everyday, my own web sites and affiliate logins and yes, it is the start page for my Powerbook too. Ah… don’t you love it when you’re not tied down to one place/solution?

There’s only one small thing I noticed about Scrapbook, it’s a little slow but then again – it could be my network. Overall, highly recommended, get it here.

I just installed that extension! I haven’t played with it because I downloaded Evernote – which I actually like. But then again, yeah another software. Hhmm, maybe I will try scrapbook after all…. :)

I know what you mean Tsoniki, I suggest you stick with Evernote if you don’t travel a lot and need to access your clippings or if you do most of your work on one computer. My biggest reason not to stay with Evernote is because I have a Mac and Windows plus when travelling, I use the Mac.

Anyway, can you believe it, just when I thought my quest has ended Google comes and announce their new application, out next week.
