Easy Ways To Make Web Forms
March 31st, 2008Did I tell you I hate making web forms? Think I did some time back. Every time there’s a form to be made, I would die a little inside first. Thankfully there are much easier ways now.
GoogleDocs - One of the easiest ways to get a quick and dirty form up. I also like this method because all the responses are entered into a spreadsheet. This can be very handy for data that you need to further manipulate or analyze. Here’s a quick video to show you how.
cformsII for WordPress - This is one of the multitude of reasons I love using WordPress. One of my favorite, amazing plugins is cformsII. They call it a contact form but oh boy you can do so much more than contact forms.
- You can create forms where people can upload files for you.
- Forms that span multiple pages
- Limit form submissions - great for contests
- Tell-a-friend forms also ‘included’
Just overall a very pleasant to use plugin. Drag and drop, point and click interface makes this a breeze.
Easy Internet Survey - this is a survey system, but you can definitely use it to create forms and collect data too. Making a submission form is simple. Just create the campaign, enter your questions and grab the code. If you’re in a hurry, it even hosts the form for you so all you need to do is send people a link.
The nice thing about Easy Internet Survey is if you are running a one question “Ask me” campaign. You can do a keyword report and find out what are the common words/keywords people use. Very useful to know what language your target market regularly uses and also to re-use them on your marketing material.

Hey Lynette!
I just watched this video on LifeHacker…how cool is that? And I can definitely see the value in that.
Now, if you can help me break free from Outlook 2007 and Business Contact Manager (always crashing), I’d be eternally grateful!
Tom

@Thomas! Good to see you again. Isn’t that cool about Lifehacker? Just found out myself too. I have not (thankfully) been married to Outlook for any length of time, so I don’t know it well enough to recommend alternatives for you. Maybe we can talk about that one on one some time.
