Data Loss
September 27th, 2005It isn’t always a technical issue. Almost everytime we talk about data loss we think about hard drive failure, your operating system crashed or some software totally messed up the computer but… physical destruction can cause data loss too. Hurricanes, tornados, fires, floods etc. I’ve been holding back from saying this for weeks because I don’t like to make an issue out of a bad situation. But with all these angry hurricanes and severe weather. What are you doing to prepare for the worst? Yes, of course, nothing is more precious than life and that should be our utmost concern. But if you’re not in any threat at the moment, this is the time to give it some thought.
Backups on your computer won’t do that much if your home (or place of business) is destroyed. Alternatives? You could backup online or backup to a removable hard drive
or both. Can never have enough backups.
