Create PDF’s With Google Docs

I was using Google Docs to work with my assistant Jen recently and saw this really nice features I haven’t noticed before. Google Docs creates PDF’s. That is nice but what’s better than that, it creates clickable text. A while back, I actually answered a question from my mailbag about how to create clickable text in a PDF document.
Since there was no Google Docs and I am a very happy user of OpenOffice, I suggested that. OpenOffice is still a great choice though but do checkout Google Docs too. Both are free to use., , ,

    Where in Google Docs is the option to make a PDF? I was just looking and I couldn’t find it.

    Great Tip Lynette, Thanks! I had problems getting a clickable PDF before, though I have been meaning to take a look at Open Office as well :)

    Hi Lynette.

    Since this post I’ve been using Google docs along with my gmail. It’s a great prg, thanks! (As an author/writer, the only problem is I need a “word counter”, so I have to cut & paste into Word anyways).

    Anyways, because of this post I also connected with Jen–an incredible SEO/IM Specialist. She far exceeds the capabilities of a typical VA.

    I just tried creating a pdf this way. I tried 3 times to convert a Word document and each time the resulting pdf would not open (Adobe says it is damaged and could not be repaired). Anyone else find this happened?

    Hi Chris,

    I haven’t had that happen to me but some people whom I sent the PDF to told me they can’t open the file. What version of Adobe Reader do you have? Maybe updating to the latest version will help. It usually does when a PDF won’t open. Otherwise, you might want to ask for help over at the Google Docs Help Group.
